Owen was the principal consultant on a project evaluating grants management solutions for a collective of community Trusts of New Zealand. With a diverse group of stakeholders, spread far apart geographically as well as in their perspectives and needs, the project presented some significant challenges.
Owen brought significant experience, and a calm and pragmatic approach, which meant that even when faced with significant challenges, the objectives were always kept front of mind and we always found a way to achieve them. His awareness of the wider implications of the project and how they could affect some of the stakeholders was also a great asset, and ensured we took a sensitive approach where it was appropriate.

Auckland Council was established in 2010 to replace the functions of the Auckland Regional Council and the seven district councils in the region. Post transition, Owen’s services were engaged in 2012 to provide his expertise to assist guide the design and initial implementation of a new IT strategy that would transform the IT department to a world class IT team. As the Head of IS at Auckland Council at that time, Owen exceeded my expectations on this assignment.
